Breast enhancement products use a different approach than cosmetic surgery. Breast augmentation surgery uses implants. Breast enhancement pills and creams use active ingredients.

These are active ingredients that encourage breast growth. For the most part, they’re estrogen. It’s known that estrogen promotes breast growth. Why not take supplementary estrogen to enhance the breasts you already have?

Most breast enhancement pills and creams have phytoestrogens. Phytoestrogens are estrogens derived from plants. Most common sources these days are soy and Pueraria mirifica.

Today, plant-based estrogens are preferred. Because aside from the fact that they have the same effects as human estrogen, they’re vegan. Some phytoestrogen sources may also be less harmful to the body than animal-based estrogen.

Phytoestrogens have the same effects as estrogen on the body. This means that taking phytoestrogen pills will give you bigger, fuller, and firmer breasts.

People have used many plants to promote breast growth. Some of these include:

• Flaxseed
• Licorice
• Saw palmetto
• Fennel
• Black cohosh
• Mexican yam
• Chasteberry
• Dong quai, a Chinese herb

However, Pueraria mirifica has been in the spotlight for the last few decades. This plant is endemic to Thailand. It’s used there as a rejuvenating supplement for centuries.

The tuberous root of Pueraria mirifica contains high amounts of phytoestrogens, and they can promote breast growth. The roots are dried and ground to a fine powder. The powder’s mixed into products or manufactured into capsules and pills.

So breast enhancement pills work. But they might not be the best choice if you want to enhance your breasts naturally. Why? Because of the following factors:

• Cost-effectiveness
• Dose and dosage variations
• Product safety and regulation
• Route of administration

The beauty of breast augmentation via surgery is that you get the exact results you want in an instant. It’s not the same with breast enhancement pills. Aside from the fact that results take time, the actual breast growth effect also varies from person to person. This means that while your breasts can increase in size, the size might not be the one you wanted.

And yes, cosmetic surgery is exponentially more expensive than pills. However, considering how long you’ll have to take the pills to experience noticeable effects, breast enhancement pills aren’t cheap, too. To be fair, current studies show that, except for gastrointestinal problems, there’s little to no adverse side effects from the consumption of phytoestrogens. However, most of these findings come from research that weren’t meant to study the safety of high-dose phytoestrogens.

And is is the root cause for all these downsides. There aren’t many in-depth research and studies about breast augmentation from phytoestrogens. As a result, no strict regulations have been enforced about it. In most countries, you can buy them over the counter, without the need for a prescription. They’re even classified as food supplements in some countries. This means they only need to pass fewer standards than if they were classified as a drug.

Phytoestrogens come from many sources, too. Sketchy companies might decide to cut costs by cutting ingredients. They might mix high quality phytoestrogens from Pueraria mirifica with cheaper plant sources. Then, there’s also the possibility of contamination during production. Are you willing to ingest all the possible toxins that come along with those pills?

Taking phytoestrogens orally might not be the best course if you want bigger and firmer breasts. Phytoestrogen acts like estrogen. This means the effect of an oral phytoestrogen supplement will include the entire body. Remember that estrogen plays a key role in several bodily functions. Taking breast enhancement pills might also enhance or alter them. Possibilities include:

• Irregular menstruation
• Mood swings
• Weight gain
• Nausea and vomiting

Also, you shouldn’t take breast enhancement pills if you’re also taking other medications. Many plant sources of phytoestrogens interact with other drugs. These make them potentially dangerous.

Here are some examples of drug interactions with some breast enhancement ingredients:

• Chasteberry: Can interfere with contraceptive pills.
• Black cohosh: Increases the toxicity of medications for those with cancer.
• Fenugreek: Interferes with blood coagulants and blood glucose regulators.
• Dong quai: Known to increase the risk for cancer.

You want a better alternative that offers a more targeted approach? Look for topical products. Putting them directly on the breasts means you’re stimulating the exact areas you want to be enhanced. You won’t need to worry about your body absorbing phytoestrogens and affecting other organs.

You want bigger and firmer breasts, then apply phytoestrogens on them directly. And yes, topical estrogen was found to be effective at making the skin firmer and more elastic, too.

But which topical product should you choose? Cream? Lotion? Serum? For its potency alone, serum is the real winner.

Out of the three, serums are the lightest and most watery product. This is because serums are formulated with the least ingredients needed. It might sound lackluster, but it just means you’re getting more potency per use. Serums have minimal ingredients, but they’re more concentrated.

Creams and lotions are formulated with emulsifiers, emollients, and occlusives. Those additives aren’t necessary bad, but they do slow down absorption.

Emollients and occlusives are typically oils. They’re meant to give the skin hydration and moisturization. However, viscous oils take longer to be absorbed by the body than water.

No to mention, topical products evaporate. Your skin might not absorb as much of the phytoestrogen in creams and lotions than if you used a serum.

Creams and lotions are less potent than serums, too. The active ingredients have to make way for the additives. So even if you used them every day, they might not be quite effective. Or, results might take longer to take effect.

If you want a more potent phytoestrogen-rich topical product, choose a serum.
